Agricultural potentional

Agricultural land area covers 22 per cent of the same area in 27 EU member countries. 0.8 hectares of agricultural land, including 0.65 arable land falls on one Ukrainian citizen. These figures in EU countries are 0.37 and 0.21 hectares accordingly.

 The major fund of Ukraine’s arable lands constitutes black soil (60%), forest grey and podzolic soils (17%); among the rest are mostly low fertile soils/poor soils – meadow-swamps, swamps, brown and other soils.
