Poultry industry

Poultry production by agricultural enterprises (65.2%) forms the biggest share in the structure of meat sales. Production of broiler meat at agricultural enterprises is 952.1 thousand tons now or 36 times as much as the same figure in 2000. This tendency becomes possible thanks to the budgetary support.

Poultry meat tends to be a leading branch. Nowadays it is the most profitable and the largest branch in meat production.

Thanks to the budgetary support, private investment attraction and use of own funds, production of broiler meat at agricultural enterprises grew from 26.7 thousand tons in 2000 to 952.1 thousand tons in 2010 or 36 times as much.

Egg Production

Egg production increased from 3 billion pieces in 2000 to 17 billion in 2010 or 1.9 times as much and egg laying capacity of chicken - from 213 pieces to 281 pieces or by 31%. The increase of egg production is due to huge specialized agricultural enterprises (poultry plants), introduction of modern technologies and substantial investments into the sector.

As to egg production it grew from 3 in 2000 to 17 billion pieces in 2011. This increase can be explained by efficient performance of huge specialized agricultural enterprises, introduction of modern technologies and substantial investments into the sector.

As of today, a stable safe epizootic situation is maintained in Ukraine.

The State Service for Veterinary Medicine supervises over 130 dangerous infectious diseases, including those common for animals and people.

The respective efforts are undertaken towards prophylactics/prevention and sanitation of animals against tuberculosis.

Implementation of anti-tuberculosis measurers made it possible to improve cattle health in the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea and 22 regions of Ukraine.
