The Palace of Schonborns-Buhgeims

cannot but impress a traveler with its nicety and architectural perfection It seems, it has been created by a magician who masterly combined the architectural distinctiveness of the building with the adjacent park (architect Ferenc Baschinda 1849) The palace was built as a summer and hunting residence by request of Count Ervin Friednch Schonborn It was most intensively used by Count Friednch Karl Schonborn Buhgeim The building has come down to us with minor outer and inner changes It is a massive pentagonal structure with two round three-tier towers at the corners The walls were executed without excessive architectural details Decorative loopholes were placed along the perimeter of the building over the windows of the second floor Numerous fireplaces inside can be considered additional decorations

Bukovel

Bukovel ski resort is a new large ski resort in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast 30 km to the west of Yaremcha. It is Ukraine’s first European-class resort, with a couple high-speed chair lifts, meticulously groomed slopes and snow-making machines, turnstyles for letting skiers through lines, and ubiquitous security personnel. Bukovel resort has been carefully planned to make skiing enjoyable and convenient and to avoid lift lines and congestion. Lift lines longer than five minutes are rare.

Necklace

The Ukrainian girls and women traditionally carried many adornments. Tradition to adorn a neck existed from the most ancient times. A rich material for a necklace the surrounding nature allowed: grains, pits of berries, vegetable boxes were used. The necklace from multi-colored glass, amber, pearls was very much appreciated; corals («a kind necklace»), especially red were considered as the greatest value. The quantity of strings of a necklace and the size of necklace were a parameter of well-being of family, and also testified to the kind attitude of the husband to the wife. To have 24–25 strings decorated also by silver was considered as the most prestigious. Magic properties to corals (in particular they were believed to preserve against cold) were attributed, having dug strings forebodes misfortune to the mistress.

Annual «Red wine» festival

In the middle of January the «Red wine» festival starts in Mukachevo and it is no wonder since top quality wine is produced in Zakarpattya. According to a story, in 1376 Elizabeth, the Queen of Hungary and Poland conferred the right of medieval European self-government on the city for selling wine. During the festival you can appreciate the taste of home made wines and factory beverages in the central square of the town and if you like, you can buy a bottle or even a tub of wine.

Grydnycia is also special in terms of the personnel attire, which is the exact replica of the clothes of 15–16 centuries the era of Polish-Lithuanian principality. It is designed according to the 700-year-old methodology.
